Low-voltage switchgear maintenance service

Periodic maintenance of low-voltage switchgear and proper management will help your low-voltage electrical system operate continuously and increase equipment lifetime. Because the transformer is a low-voltage electrical system, it plays an important role in providing continuous power supply.’

I. The importance of maintaining low-voltage electrical switchgear

Low voltage switchgears are used in conditions where the grid power is at 0.4kV. It is placed right after the low voltage stations with the main function of switching and protecting the safety of the load electrical system. Explain why it is necessary to periodically maintain electrical switchgear.

Any type of equipment or machinery needs to be periodically maintained, the same goes for low-voltage electrical switchgear. It is not true that electrical switchgear is placed in a closed room, avoiding contact with the outside, so they are less likely to break down, so they do not need regular maintenance. It can be said that this is completely incorrect.

II. OTECH’s low-voltage electrical switchgear maintenance service

1. Low-voltage electrical switchgear

  • Scan the temperature of cable and busbar terminals before and after maintenance.
  • Generally, check all equipment before and after the switchgear.
  • Clean with a vacuum cleaner and specialized solution.
  • Tighten the cable connectors, busbars, and busbars.
  • Check the busbar insulation, and detect low insulation positions.
  • Check the switching device, insulation, and interlock.
  • Check the protection relay by secondary pumping
  • Check the continuity of fuses, indicator lights, and buttons.

2. ACB, MCCB circuit breakers

  • Scan the temperature of ACB and MCCB terminals before and after maintenance.
  • Generally, check, and clean with a vacuum cleaner and specialized solution.
  • Check the mechanical and electrical switching functions.
  • Check the contact status, wear of fixed and movable elements, clean, grease mechanical ,and contact grease on the parts.
  • Measure contact resistance and insulation resistance at the circuit breaker poles with specialized equipment.
  • Check the safety lock, and ensure correct operation.

3. Capacitor compensation system

  • General inspection, clean the capacitor blocks with a vacuum cleaner and specialized solution.
  • Check the temperature outside and inside the switchgear.
  • Check the capacitor compensation controller using the cosφ difference method and secondary current pump.
  • Measure the capacitor compensation capacitance value.
  • Check the operation of the contactors, and MCCBs controlling the capacitor compensation.
  • Clean the cables and tighten the cable connectors

After maintaining your system, in addition to the issues handled during the maintenance process, we also have a report, a report on the system status as well as recommendations to improve the system quality and safety for operators.
